In this commentary we intend to address one of the most common concerns of the society which is the impact of a scientist’s ideology on the results of her/his research. We hope thoughtful people make more efforts to obviate doubts on this matter, and try to promulgate research as the profession of a scientist.

Some people³ suppose that scientists are impacted by their ideology in the process of “defining research”, “formulating research objectives”, and “selecting a methodology”. This is because on the one hand, they ignore research as the sole tool at a scientist⁴’s disposal in approaching problems within her/his knowledge, and on the other hand, they have an inaccurate understanding of a scientist’s personality and scientific features. In other words, they believe that the philosophical principles and beliefs of a scientist affect both the process and the product of the research.

It can be said in response: Firstly, the features that characterize scientific research method, are lucid and transparent, correspond to human’s nature and wisdom⁵, and have been and continue to be accepted no matter what the geographical borders are.

Secondly, a. the scientist has to have attained a deep understanding of the nature of reality. “Ontology” means s/he outh to know any reality is not the whole truth, but maybe it is a flash or a little piece of truth. b. a scientist has to have come to a good understanding of her/his scope and limits of understanding of the subject at hand “epistemology”. S/he ought to know that there are a multitude of things s/he does not know. c. A scientist has to know the limitations of the methodology s/he benefits from. For instance, no matter what method or degree of precision, there could always exist some inaccuracy or error in results and findings.

Paying attention to the points above will thus free a scientist from situational fashions in vogue and the human history will face the hanging people less.
